In many of our memories, there is always a hint of green.

A jade bangle on a grandmother's wrist — never taken off. A jade pendant resting against a mother's chest — her fingers touching it absently throughout the day. A tiny green piece given by an elder, worn since childhood, with the quiet blessing: "Wear this, and you'll be safe." We may not have known its name back then. Only later did we learn that this stone is called jade.

Deep beneath the earth, jade is a mineral formed under intense heat and pressure — with specific gemmological markers. But in our lives, it has never been just a mineral. It is a material that carries memory, holds blessings, and passes on care. When a piece of jade is worn for years — smoothed by touch, warmed by skin — it ceases to be merely stone. It becomes a small, portable piece of emotion that travels with you.

And as society changes, so does this emotion. It can grow into something entirely unexpected.

"Dawn Jade Market", presented by Dawn Atelier & Academy, is a market centred on jade, yet unbound by traditional definitions. Here, we pause for a moment — together with a group of fellow makers who share our passion for jade craftsmanship — to explore a new world for this ancient material, right here in Hong Kong.

From traditional metalwork to contemporary jewellery design, from scholarly objets to experimental materials — each participating artist brings their own language to reinterpret the boundaries of jade and stone. And The Jade Six shares our vision of jade: warmly timeless, yet distinctly light and contemporary.

Through browsing, feeling and having a conversation, you might just discover that the familiar green in your memory can take on a form you never imagined.
